Permits

climbing     abseiling     hillwalking     bouldering     mountainbiking

It may have escaped your notice but Lincoln isnt really mountainous so a lot of leaders dont have the experience and permits necessary to run climbing and hillwalking sessions – that is partly why the MAT was set up – to help leaders give their young people the chance to experience something new, an adventure, something they will hopefully come to love.

You have probably clicked on this page because you like the idea of being able to do these activities yourself ?  Great !  Get in touch  – let’s see what we can do for you and also what you could do for us.  All groups need help and we are no different, you dont have to do every activity or even go on the hills but a little help is always appreciated

Climbing and hillwalking are both covered by the Scout Association’s internal assessment scheme which is designed to ensure that all those leading adventurous activities for young people within Scouting have the skills, experience and personal suitability to do so.

A useful introduction to the permit scheme can be found on the County’s website  Introduction to the permit scheme

However full details of the permit scheme can be found on the Scout website at http://members.scouts.org.uk/supportresources/2836/adventurous-activity-permit-scheme

If you are interested in getting a hillwalking or climbing permit we may be able to help and advise. We can help you gain the necessary experience and skills needed.  We have helped many people attain their permits so if you want to know more then get in touch
